I’ve already done the best-of-year thing, but here are a few more tidbits from the Year In Larry - excluding anything interesting or personal, as per official site policy.
- Wrote many words.
- Started unread/unreadable web site.
- Took six plane trips, three for work.
- Did cool and mostly legal stuff with friends.
- Developed slight mistrust of country’s financial institutions and those who oversee them.
- Went ice skating. Have quarter-sized raw patch of skin on bottom of foot to prove it. In much pain. Do you have Neosporin? If so, could you bring some over? Because I’d like that.
- Identified Vienna and Is She Really Going Out With Him? as most vocally simpatico karaoke songs.
- Ate lots of cheeseburgers.
- Skipped milestone high-school reunion, due to shame over lack of gut and fat-guy facial hair.
- Basked in the enormity of the events of February 3.
- Hated the Indiana Jones sequel to an extent so profound and unmanageable as to prompt an inquiry about therapeutic options.
- Met nice people.
- Met not-nice people.
- Joined Facebook to commune with these people.
- Decided to accept all invitations of virtual friendship so long as the befriender did not assume any real-world counterpart.
- Ran long race and, in refreshing change from usual practice, maintained consciousness throughout.
- Had one cold.
- Saw Freedy Johnston in concert once, during which he played most of Can You Fly in order and then muffed the words to Bad Reputation.
Yeah. I’m kind of checked out until January 5 or so. Buy California Thing, the final FReedy FRiday selection of a pretty darn okay 2008, here.
