Had the chance to chat with Boris “Bo” Borowski the other night after the first Borowski Bros. gig in about four months. As a result, I’m starting to understand why most bands peter out after its members enter their 30s.

Look at the Borowskis themselves. Since their last show, Bo fell in love and started euphonizing about rainbows and smileyhugs, while Gerry got a dog and sired a little’un. It’s hard to keep participating in drunken escapades involving rowboats when the adult world beckons. Life interferes. It’s relentless that way.

That said, the boys sounded no worse for the time off. Gerry claimed the MVP award for the night, owing to his suggestion that they rework a loud, organ-rich Springsteen classic as a folky waltz. After the show, he and Bo left the barn with their gals. They looked happy.
